Sheila Harmon is the owner of Collection West Studio, and indeed, she is the one that is inspired by all things California. She was born in the midwest, raised on the Gulf Coast of Florida, and earned her degree in Interior Design while living in picturesque Park City, Utah. After graduation (and nine road trips up and down the California coast later...in one year), without hesitation she moved to the Bay Area in 2013. Gaining experience as an interior designer for a modern furniture showroom and working as an assistant with a boutique design firm in the area, Sheila began building her own client list with projects ranging from Carmel to Gold Country. With the diversity of locations along with a hefty amount of travel, Sheila has developed an eclectic style, but creates personal collected settings. In addition to her degree in design, she has received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida, received hands on training in fine woodworking and furniture construction, and studied Art History while living abroad at the University of Urbino in the Marche region of Italy.

One-of-a-kind furnishings and decor is a passion of hers, which was the driving force behind Collection West: the Shop. Along with her partner, in 2014 she opened a showroom in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco that specialized in antiques and unique one-offs. In 2016, she opened her first pop up under Collection West, continuing to offer rare furniture with a story as well as local goods. As we are always sourcing new locations around the Bay Area, our online store is constantly being updated. In addition to her love for interiors, Sheila enjoys building and crafting custom pieces of furniture, lighting, accent pieces, and artwork that personalize client projects and get worked into the Shop.

A few of her favorite things of the design process:

Conquering custom solutions for awkward spaces and maximizing functionality.

Knowing exactly where your furniture comes from and who makes it.

Creating personalized, curated spaces for her clients.
